After suffering a data loss and service interruption caused by malware spread via email, a consumer products distribution company decided to train its teams in how to thwart this type of attack.
GM Consultant performed a phishing risk vulnerability test to assess how susceptible its client’s employees’ were to phone hacking. Fake emails, sent from a forged email account, were sent in waves to a test panel.
At the end of the testing, we drew up a report that detailed how well protected the company was against this type of risk, complete with collected metrics, and pointed out areas that could be improved. The company plans to have this testing redone regularly, and will hold more awareness-building sessions to further reduce their vulnerability.
