Technical controller implicated in a collapse

On the night after a shopping centre was opened, part of the roof collapsed, resulting in substantial tangible damages.

A judicial expertise was ordered to assess the damages and arrange for repairs to be made as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, the shopping centre was completely closed, to be partially reopened, for about six months. This situation prompted the owner, the company operating the shopping centre, and about twenty stores to make claims for operational losses.

As part of the judicial expertise, loss adjusters from GM Consultant, specialised in operational loss and financial evaluation, stepped in to:

  • Make observations of the tangible impacts and calculate the direct damage (buildings and contents) generated by the incident.
  • Examine, analyse, and evaluate all of the claims for operational losses made by all of the claimants.
