Sarah Reynolds, has joined GM Consultant as International Cyber Director

Could you describe your career?

I have worked in insurance for the past thirty years having joined a UK agricultural insurance company in 1987, as a Claims Correspondent. I completed my ACII and moved across to loss adjusting in 1992, where I have remained ever since. For the past 5 years, I have been fortunate to specialise in cyber incident response and crisis management, having devised one of the first international platforms to deliver all the expert vendors and project management skills typically associated with a cyber incident. I qualified as an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters in 2000 and am a past examiner for the Institute. I am currently working with CILA to promote and raise the profile of loss adjusting internationally which fits well with my role in GM Consultant as International Cyber Director, as we build the international loss adjusting division of the business

I participate in a number of working parties for cyber strategies across the insurance sector, industry local and central government.

What is your strategic vision of the Cyber Product line?

Cyber means different things to different people where computers touch so much of our work and home environments in very different ways. The pace of technology also has to move quickly to keep up with demand for globalisation for even the most smallest of businesses.

It is thus essential for GM Consultant cyber offering to continue remain innovative and responsive to the expectations of insurance and non insurance clients and cognisant of new vulnerabilities and hacking behaviours. We must also continue to recruit market leaders internationally and nurture internal talent to maintain and grow

I see the two models that we offer for cyber services in terms of pre and post incident can be used across all product lines within GM Consultant to provide an international platform for Insurers and global corporates to access a bespoke technical, investigation and project management skills locally at the point of demand, to a level of service which is consistent across the whole group. Ultimately, I would like to build upon the innovative approach we have adopted for cyber to position GM Consultant as a partner Insurers will go to for claims and underwriting support for other enterprise insurance products.

What is your new position at GM Consultant?

This is the second international appointment as part of the development of the international division of GM Consultant and first international product line lead. I will work closely territories and experts to provide training and mentoring for major loss and catastrophic project management as well as cyber specific matters. with all experts.

Vendor management including the management of international 24/7 call centre is well underway and we are in the process of securing Chartered status for the loss adjusting division.

I will work with the other Directors to replicate the success the business has achieved in France, internationally. We are being told by our clients that there is space in the market for another international loss adjusting practise in the major/CAT loss arena and I will work with you all for GM Consultant to secure this vacancy!
