Computer equipment damaged

A company that publishes software applications and creates and improves websites rented a secure space for its hardware from a hosting provider.

Rainwater leaking through the roof impacted the host’s premises and equipment owned by the policyholder.

A water drainage pipe on the roof was clogged with leaves, which prevented the water from flowing away normally. This accumulation of debris is due to the owner of the premises neglecting to clean the drainage system.

The company asked GM Consultant to work on this case because of its proven track record handling IT claims.

The loss adjusters called in an expert to conduct a thorough technical analysis of all the equipment affected by the water, and to distinguish between equipment with physical damage and equipment impacted by the water but still operational.
