Discovery of the remnants of a petrol station in a garden

After buying a home built on the site of a former petrol station, the home owner discovered that the underground fuel tanks had not been removed, and that the manholes used to access the reservoirs were still accessible.

GM Consultant loss adjusters stepped in to handle this case at the request of the public liability insurer for the oil company that operated the station more than 30 years ago.

Thanks to the negotiations carried out by our Oil and Gas specialist, the oil company agreed to have the fuel tanks extracted and have the green spaces restored. The case was resolved through the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding and renouncement waiving any right of future recourse between the parties.
