Cyber attacks on storage servers

Our policyholder is the publisher of a training software application used to manage all issues encountered by training entities (scheduling, programming, etc.). All the policyholder’s clients had entrusted their data and backups to the publisher to be stored on its servers. The policyholder was the victim of two criminal acts 10 days apart, resulting in a large proportion of its clients losing their data.
The computer hacker, who was identified and is facing criminal charges, deleted some of the production data and associated backups.
The publisher’s clients are seeking compensation for the lost data that they need to re-enter and for the downtime of the software application.

Around a hundred of the publisher’s clients have made a claim.

In this incident, GM Consultant was asked to manage about sixty cases. About fifty were managed in the first year.
